The applicant shall obtain clearances/approvals for the following after obtaining approval from Building and Safety Division, prior to building permit issuance (CHECKED BOXES REQUIRED ONLY):
☒Planning Division approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5804). Previously approved plans should be submitted to expedite the process.
☒Public Works Agency approval (647-5039).
☒Fire Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5839 or 647-5700).
☒Police Department approval on the corrected/final set of drawings (647-5840).
☐School District Approval; and a copy of the school fee worksheet, completed by the plan check engineer, shall be required by the School District to verify the scope of the work.
☐Proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance shall be required at the time of permit issuance.
☐Grading Permit. Application is made through the Building Safety Division (647-5800) and the plan review is by the Public Works Agency (647-5039).Comments have been provided on drawing and calculation hard copies in relation to all comments below. Applicant must pick up red marked sets from city prior to resubmittal and return marked up set with resubmittal.DocumentationA licensed architect is required for the proposed scope and permit. The licensed architect shall provide stamped and signed drawings to demonstrate full Building Code compliance for the proposed fence and gate. This includes all affected addresses (501 Main, 503 Main, 505 Main, and 500 Bush). [CBC Ch. 10, 11B, etc]PC #2: Comment not fully addressed, additional information shall be provided on drawings. Applicant shall provide, but are not limited to, the following:Provide floor plan for 505 Main Street identifying the existing exits, occupant load, and number of occupants per exit. Provide floor plan for existing floors exiting through Stair 1 including number of occupants through exit. Gate shall be shown to meet all means of egress requirements as well as accessibility requirements per CBC Ch. 1010, 11A, and 11B as it is used for multiple occupancy buildings.Identify landing and landing clearance on outside of new gate. Provide 5’-0” minimum clearance.Proposed work outside of property line is not permitted without adjacent property owner acknowledgement and approval. A notarized letter from the owner of the neighbor lot which the fence will be constructed is required prior to approval. The letter shall include the acknowledgement of the proposed work that is being done on their lot and their approval of any construction to be done to their lot or building as proposed by the permit applicant. In addition, a separate permit shall be required for work completed on the adjacent lot. Please reach out to your assigned Planner for more information.EOR shall provide stamped and signed drawings and details to match provided calculations. EOR is noting to attach to both buildings on each side of fence. This is not permitted without approval for each building as noted above. All structural consideration shall be noted for ancoring to two different buildings.PC #2: Comment not addressed, stamped and signed structural drawings and details provided in calculation package shall be provided in drawing set. Only 503 main is shown, but 503 Main does not look to incorporate the entire structure adjacent to the alley. It shall be clearly identified which units open up to the alley.
