Clearances –The approval from the following agencies are required prior to Building permit issuance:
Planning Division – After the Building Division’s approval, Building Division staff will notify the Planning Division for approval. For approval status, contact the Planning Division at (714) 647-5804 or visit the Planning Division counters.
Public Works Agency (PWA) – After the Building Division’s approval, visit the Building Division counters and request a copy of the approved plan. Bring the approved plan to the PWA counters for approval. After PWA approves your project, return the approved plan to the Building Division counters.
Police Department (PD) – After the building division’s approval, BuildingDivision staffwillnotifyPD for approval. For approval status, contact the PD at (714) 647-5840 or email PolicePlanCheck@santa-ana.org.
Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) - Submit plans to OCFA may be required.Visit www.ocfa.org for submittal information and locations. If you need assistance or have questions regarding requirements for review, please contact OCFA at 714-573-6108 or visit OCFA at 1 Fire Authority Road, Irvine, CA 92602. After the building division’s approval, bring an OCFA approved plan to the Building Division counters for prove of OCFA approval.
Orange County Health Department (OC Health) – Obtain OC Health approval. For questions, please contact OC Health Department at (714) 433-6074.Detail 1 on sheet A2.1. Method of attaching framing to the building structure. Compliance shall be shown with CBC Section 1607.16 for lateral support of the walls. Do not support top of walls to suspended ceiling system unless calculations and drawing prepared by a registered engineer are submitted for review. Submit structural engineering calculations for walls in rooms with a floor to building structure above height greater than 14’.END OF COMMENTS.
