Also address integrity) <br /> <br />The Holstein House is architecturally significant as a characteristic example of the Ranch style. This house was originally <br />constructed in 1954, and was valued at approximately $9,000, according to the original building permit. The first recorded <br />occupant was George M. Holstein III, the builder of the property. Mr. Holstein was a prominent builder in Southern California. <br />He is also known for building a several homes in Beverly Hills for motion picture stars. As an ardent sportsman, Mr. Holstein <br />was a key figure in the creation of the Balboa Bay Club, the Rancho San Joqauin Golf Course, and the Newport Beach <br />Tennis Club.There is no other occupant listed in the directories until 1962. <br /> <br />(See Continuation Sheet 3 of 3.) <br /> <br />B11.
