FOR A CHEVROLET SILVERADO <br />CREW LEADER TRUCK <br />(SPECICIFICATION NO. 18-005) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6,2) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize a one-time purchase and payment of purchase order to Guaranty Chevrolet Motors <br />Inc., for the procurement of one Chevrolet Silverado truck with a low profile WorkPod insert in the <br />amount of $52,659.20, subject to nonsubstantive changes approved by the City Manager and <br />City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Agency, Facilities, Fleet Maintenance and Central <br />Stores Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of <br />vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. The Public Works Sewer Services Division is in <br />need of a truck to replace an existing maintenance vehicle for one of their crew leader positions. <br />The existing maintenance vehicle was purchased in 2005 and has over 109,000 miles. Due to <br />the extensive use and age of this vehicle, it has proven to be unreliable and expensive to repair. <br />The replacement Silverado will include a low profile WorkPod insert to provide adequate tool <br />storage compartments. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 22, 2018, on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system.
