GEOSCIENCE will attend one Deconstruction meeting
<br />with the selected Contractorand City personnel to review
<br />key Issues within the contract documents and technical
<br />specifications, in addition, questions will be addressed
<br />regarding hydrogeologio and logistical matters. Items to be
<br />discussed at the meeting will Include (but not be limited to)
<br />required submittals and Inspections, permitting, discharge
<br />Issues, work schedule, invoicing, and communication
<br />protocols. Additionally, at the time of the bre-construction
<br />meeting, the prospectIVO Contractor will have the
<br />Opportunity to visit the Well site to satisfy themselves
<br />regarding conditions that may affaotequipment set up,
<br />At the time of the Mating,, the Contractor will have the
<br />opportunity to -point out any issues that they may have
<br />regarding preparation of site for the work. GEOSCIENCE
<br />will coordinate Contractor activitias prforto mobilization.
<br />This Will inolude verifying that the Contractor has provided
<br />all submittals required by the technical specifications
<br />And that equipment delivered to the glte masts the
<br />requirements of -the spaoifidattons, it is assumed that elf
<br />rehabilitation work will be bid under one contract and that
<br />quendence at oply-one pro -construction meeting for this
<br />Phase Will be necessary.
<br />S. Technical Plans and Speciflcatlans
<br />GEOSCIENCE will prepare detailed technical pians and
<br />specifications for the rehabilitation ofthe0tywel€ based
<br />on observations ohtafned in phase 1, Including a detailed
<br />bid sofiedule with Specific line Items showing units and
<br />unit quantities for the work, items included in the technical
<br />specifications will Include (but are not limited to) the
<br />fdllowing:
<br />•
<br />Well location, depth, dimensions, and materials;
<br />+ Permits and regulatory requirements,
<br />• Compliance with discharge requirements (as
<br />necessary);
<br />• Job conditions (e.g., noise suppression, waste
<br />materials, runoff management, power, fighting, water,
<br />security, sanitation, parking, traffic control, and work
<br />damage);
<br />» Mobilization, demobilization, clearing, grubbing, and
<br />site cleanup;
<br />• Equipment, materials, and records to be furnished by
<br />the Contractor,
<br />• Records to be kept by the Contractor;
<br />• Well repair by swaging;
<br />• Well cleaning by brushing and bailing
<br />• Well cleaning by chemical €n)ection;
<br />• Weil redevelopment by airlifting and swabbing;
<br />• Well radevalopment by pumping and surging;
<br />• Aquifer pumping and recovery test protocol;
<br />+ Flowmeter survey;
<br />• Field ground water quality monitoring protocol;
<br />Ground water sampling protocol;
<br />t Post -rehabilitation `dual -oars` downhole video survey;
<br />and
<br />• Final wall disinfection.
<br />GCOSCIENCE will submit an eleotroniccopy of alto%
<br />DRAFT varsion of the technical plans and spactiketions to
<br />the City, for review and comment, Comments to the draft
<br />will I* incomaratod and GEOSCIFNCE will submit one (1)
<br />elsctronic-OPY and thrsa t3) bound hard copies of the
<br />100% FINAL technical specifications.
<br />4. Field Inspection
<br />a. Well Modification by Swaging.
<br />If any damage to the waif MIrvg and scram Is observed
<br />from the.downhole video €urvey, It may be nocesseryto
<br />Awag a patch to stabilize filter pack and formation material
<br />from enteringthe.weli during operation. if this is oeamed
<br />necessary, GEOSCIENCE will providefall time inspection
<br />while. any patches or repairs are mads,
<br />b'. Initial Brushing and Bailing of Wall Casing and Screen
<br />A vigorous mechanical brushing procedure should be
<br />implemented to loosen and dislodge a maximum amount
<br />of surface enorustation and/or b€o. ullog materials.
<br />GECSCIENCE will provide part-time €nspeotion during
<br />brushing andb'ailing of the well to monitor the progress
<br />of the task and to ensure that the proper methods and
<br />equipment are employed, GEOSCIENCE will provide
<br />direction to Contractor regarding problem areas of the well
<br />screen that mayrequire additional work.
<br />c. Chemical Rehabilitation
<br />Following mechanioat rehabilitation, the well should
<br />undergo chemical cleaning to remove biofiim produced
<br />by bacteria, clays and fine-grained sediments, as well
<br />as assisting In removing biological and mineral deposits
<br />that may be Cloggingthe perforations and near -well zone.
<br />The exact nature of the chemicals to be used shelf be
<br />recommended based on the results of the downhole video
<br />survey (Phase I) .and review of the wells water chemistry.
<br />GEOSCIENCE will provide full-time inspection during mixing
<br />and application of the chemical mixture to ensure proper
<br />chemical concentrations and proper dispersal throughout
<br />the well casing and screen,
