EXHIBIT 1 <br />2018-19 Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />skills, writing abilities and math. Time allocation for this program is 30% for the literacy <br />coach and 30% for the math coach - see budget narrative. <br />3. Past experience with WIOA programs or other youth programs - OCCTAC has been serving <br />Santa Ana youth since the year 2000. For the past 17 years, OCCTAC has provided a wide <br />variety of programs to the community, and served students of all ages, including young <br />children and older youth (with and without disabilities). OCCTAC has operated W!A/WIOA <br />programs for almost 10 years, since the year 20051 Every year our program grows and <br />demonstrates success with our WIOA participants. We are very proud and excited to see the <br />successes and great outcomes of our WIOA youth, year after year. <br />4. What kind of impact has your organization made on the youth community - OCCTAC has <br />had a tremendous Impact on the Santa Ana youth communityl We are very proud of our <br />accomplishments throughout the years, and especially our success stories with our "WIOA <br />Youth"I As stated before, OCCTAC is committed to empoweringyouth with disabilities, foster <br />youth and high school drop-out students, so they can reach their fullest potential in life. <br />Through our innovative approach, which combinesthe arts, education, health and technology <br />programs, participants are motivated, engaged and involved in a variety of programs at <br />OCCTAC. In 2015-16 our WIOA participants attained employment/entered education at a <br />rate of 70%attained a credential at a rate of 100% and attained Literacy and Numeracy gains <br />a rate of 100%1 These outcomes demonstrate the commitment and dedication of our <br />wonderful WIOA program staff. <br />2. Proposed Program: <br />A. Provide an overview of the program's main objectives. - The WIOA program is an extension of <br />our current educational services provided to older youth (with and without disabilities); it <br />empowers and educates youth, and provides life -changing opportunities. OCCTAC has been <br />working with WIOA participants since 2005. The WIOA program at OCCTAC will provide all 14 <br />WIOA elements, including: educational services, job training, paid work experience, adult <br />mentoring, literacy & math tutoring, career & educational counseling, alternative secondary <br />school services, occupational skills training and education, supportive services, certificate <br />programs, leadership opportunities, comprehensive counseling, financial literacy, <br />entrepreneurial skills training, labor market information, activities to help youth prepare for post- <br />secondary education and follow-up services. The basic program will take place primarily at our <br />community-based center in Santa Ana. Participants will engage in a variety of educational and <br />job training activities, including classroom and workshop instruction. Participants will be <br />required to meet individually with key staff, participate in daily and weekly educational trainings, <br />and weekly workshops. Also, WIOA participants will also engage in weekly "hands-on" work <br />experience and job training opportunities at our agency and other offsite job trainings in the <br />community.
