ARTICLE V <br />5.0 SALARIES <br />5,1 Basic Compensation Plan. There Is hereby established a basic compensation <br />plan for all full-time and designated PTCS personnel who are now employed <br />orshall in the future be employed in any of the designated classifications of <br />employment represented by CASA as listed in this MOU and its attachments. <br />5.2 Salary Schedule. The basic salary schedule, periodically updated and <br />published by the City provides numerous salary rate ranges, each comprised <br />of six (6) steps or rates of pay. <br />The steps within each rate range are identified by the letters "AA" through <br />"E" inclusive, with Step "AA" being the lowest step in the range. The purpose <br />of each step and the length of service required foradvancement to the next <br />higher step within a particular salary rate range as set forth in the City's salary <br />schedule, as periodically updated and published by the City. <br />The assignment of classifications to salary rate ranges for full time personnel is <br />listed in the City's salary schedule, as periodically updated and published by <br />the City. <br />5.3 Salaries. <br />A. Effective September 1, 2017 CASA members' base salaries shall be <br />increased by two percent (2%). <br />B. Should Executive Management, non -sworn POA, or SAMA under <br />successor agreements to those MOD's or agreements that are orwere <br />expired on or after July 1, 2017, accept better salary provisions than <br />those provided to CASA, CASA shall receive the equivalent salary <br />increases, including retroactive pay, provided to the other employee <br />group or association. . <br />C. The City shall conduct a compensation study of all CASA <br />classifications, The study of the eight (B) Orange County cities with the <br />largest populations will be completed by an outside consultant and <br />shall be completed by September 1, 2018, There shall be no negative <br />impact to any bargaining unit member as a result of the <br />compensation study. <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA(CASA) MOU; 2017-2018 Page 12 <br />25H-16 <br />
