ARTICLE XII <br />12.0 EMPLOYEE INSURANCE <br />12.1 Health Insurance, The City shall contribute the following amounts toward the <br />payment of premiums for affected employees and their dependents under <br />the existing health insurance programs or new program or programs <br />providing substantially similar or improved coverage and benefits selected In <br />accordance with procedures in effect on the effective date of this MOU: <br />A. For each such employee who is covered under a spouse's non -City <br />sponsored health plan, the City shall pay the employee a cash <br />payment each month in an amount equal to 50% of the monthly <br />premium amount for the City's lowest "employee -only" coverage, if <br />the employee waives, in writing, City -paid coverage. <br />B. Effective January 1, 2018, the City shall confribute in a monthlyamount <br />as follows: <br />Employee up to $ 654.00 <br />Employee + 1 up to $1,307.00 <br />Employee + Family up to $1,700.00 <br />Should Executive Management, SAMA, SEW or any other non -sworn <br />employee group under successor agreements to those MOD's or <br />agreements that are or were expired on or after July 1, 2017, accept <br />better health insurance provisions than those provided to CASA, CASA <br />shall receive the equivalent health insurance provisions, provided to <br />the other employee group or association. <br />C. Any contribution necessary to maintain benefits under City -sponsored <br />medical plans in excess of the amount set forth above shall be borne <br />entirely by the employee. <br />D. The parties recognize that certain State and Federal laws, programs <br />and regulations, including the Affordable Care Act, may impact <br />future medical plan offerings. In the event that reform measures <br />enacted during the term of this MOU alter healthcare options, cost or <br />other elements of healthcare services, thereby materially altering the <br />provisions of this MOU, the parties agree that upon the request of <br />either party the parties shall re -open Section 12.1 hereof regarding <br />medical insurance for the purpose of discussing alternative <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA(CASA) MOU: 2017-2018 Page 51 <br />
