Revise Cost Analysis for Safe Routes to School <br />Enhancements for Washington Elementary <br />July 3, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />Staff is recommending Council approval of a revised Project Cost Analysis that increases the <br />construction contingency by $146,000, for a total project delivery not to exceed $718,141. The <br />actual costs of the additional work will be approved as needed by staff authorization of change <br />orders. Any approval for cost extras will be to allow for constructing the additional work as <br />described above within the existing project grant funds. The following table summarizes the <br />available funds and the revised requested authorization: <br />AVAILABLE GRANT FUNDS (CTC) $723,000 <br />AUTHORIZED FUNDS TO DELIVER PROJECT <br />$572,141 <br />Construction Contract <br />$457,712 <br />Administration, Inspection, Testing <br />$68,657 <br />Construction Contingency <br />$45,772 <br />I <br />I <br />Added Contract Contingency for Change Order Work <br />$146,000 <br />REVISED TOTAL <br />I <br />$718,141 <br />As shown in the table above and in the revised Project Cost Analysis (Exhibit 2), there are <br />sufficient funds available for the added request and any unexpended grant funds will remain <br />available for future projects within the CTC. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #6 - Community Facilities & <br />Infrastructure, Objective #1 (establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City <br />assets), Strategy B (equitably maintain existing streets and associated assets in a state of good <br />repair so they are clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing for all users) and Strategy G (develop <br />and implement the City's Capital Improvement Program in coordination with the Community <br />Investment and Deferred Maintenance Plans. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the recommended actions are <br />exempt from further review. Categorical Exemption Environmental Review No. 2014-116 was <br />filed for this project. <br />23D-2 <br />
