Adopt A Resolution Authorizing the City Manager or Designee to Execute a Sub -Grant <br />Agreement to Receive Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Title I Funds for <br />Program Year 2018-2020 <br />Page 2 <br />A new sub -grant agreement is required at the beginning of each program year in order to receive <br />WIOA funds as allocated by the State of California, Employment Development Department <br />(EDD). Upon approval of the resolution and execution of the sub -grant agreement the City's <br />WIOA allocation for youth funds will be $862,145. WIOA allocation for Program Year 2018-2020 <br />will be as follows: <br />While the initial award is for youth funding, no further action will be required by the City to receive <br />the Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Rapid Response funds as EDD will disburse through unilateral <br />sub -grant modifications later in the program year. This year, the final WIOA formula allocations <br />were announced by EDD late in the City's budget preparation process. Staff will review the <br />recently approved City Budget and adjust various line items to reflect the final allocations. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #2 - Youth Education, Recreation, <br />Objective #4 (Partner with groups and organizations to promote education, senior services, job <br />training and development for all Santa Ana residents). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The adopted FY 2018-19 budget included the estimated $934,605 in WIOA Youth grant funding. <br />The budget will be reduced to reflect the actual allocation. <br />Steven A Mendoza <br />Executive Director <br />Community Development Agency <br />DS/bz <br />Exhibits: 1.
