Proposed Contract with Orange County School of the Arts — Chief David Valentin <br />Chief Valentin also provided an informational update about a pending contract with Orange <br />County School of the Arts (OCSA) for the services of one police officer to be assigned to <br />the campus full-time. This agreement would leverage police resources in the Civic <br />Center/surrounding areas. All expenses would be covered by the school, including salary, <br />equipment, vehicle, etc. <br />ACTION <br />Co -Chair Villegas asked that update on Officer Hiring be provided at the next meeting. <br />6. Homelessness Update — Acting Deputy Chief Gominsky & Hafsa Kaka, Homeless <br />Services Manager {Strategic Plan No. 5, 3d & No. 1, lc} <br />Acting Deputy Chief Gominsky presented the Council Committee with an overview of the <br />City's Quality Of Life Team (QOLT). QOLT is an interdepartmental team consisting of <br />Staff from Police, Public Works, Parks and Recreation and other City agencies, partnered <br />with Orange County Mental Health, established to increase efficiency in addressing quality <br />of life concerns relating to homeless. <br />Hafsa Kaka introduced herself as the new Homeless Manager and shared her experience in <br />working with the homeless community. Additionally, Hafsa discussed her plans for <br />addressing homeless concerns in the City. <br />13B-5 <br />
