Staff recommends the City Council approve options 1a and 2 through 6. <br />a. Modify position taken at the July 3, 2018, City Council meeting to place a 1.5% rather <br />than a 1.0% add on sales and use tax measure to be referred to as the Santa Ana <br />Neighborhood Safety and Essential City Services Protection Measure, on the November <br />6, 2018 General Municipal Election ballot, and decide whether the 1.5% add on sales and <br />use tax should be imposed through 2030 and reduced to 1.0% in 2031. <br />OR <br />b. Ratify the position taken at the July 3, 2018, City Council meeting to place a 1.0% add on <br />sales and use tax measure, referred to as the Santa Ana Neighborhood Safety and <br />Essential City Services Protection Measure, on the November 6, 2018 General Municipal <br />Election ballot. <br />2. Adopt Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana calling for the placement on the <br />Ballot of a Measure for the November 6, 2018 General Municipal Election for the Submission to <br />the Qualified Voters of a Proposed Ordinance Regarding a General Sales Tax Measure and <br />Providing for the Filing of Argument and Rebuttal Statements. <br />Request that the Board of Supervisors of Orange County Consolidate the City's General <br />Municipal Election with the Statewide GenprWcion. <br />
