Participants will complete objective assessments in work readiness, skill assessments <br />and career exploration in the beginning of the program. Work readiness workshops <br />that will cover topics such as work ethic, job retention, conflict resolution, and <br />college success will be offered to participants throughout the program. <br />2. Percent of participants who are in education or training or unsubsidized <br />employment during the 4th quarter after exit. <br />In addition to the objectives assessments and workshops offered throughout the <br />program, follow up services will include transportation assistance in the form of bus <br />passes and gas cards in order to have reliable transportation to work and or school. <br />These services will help ensure that participants are entering into <br />employment/education and are able to remain employed and stay in school. <br />3. Document the median earnings of participants in unsubsidized employment during <br />the 2nd quarter after exit. <br />Paycheck stubs are collected from the participants in order to have an accurate <br />record of participants' earnings. <br />4. Percent of participants who obtain recognized postsecondary credential or <br />secondary diploma during participation or within 1 year after exit. <br />Participants will obtain credentials that lead to employment that is in demand. <br />Examples of credentials that will be offered are high school diplomas, forklift license, <br />food handler's license, security guard card and customer service. Participants will be <br />connected to institutions that offer these credentials. <br />5. Percent of participants who, during the program, are in education or training that <br />leads to a recognized postsecondary credential or employment AND who are <br />achieving measurable skills gains. <br />Participants will be enrolled in training programs for credentials that lead to in <br />demand jobs. Skills will be assessed during program participation by the WEX <br />supervisor and case manager. <br />6. Effectiveness in serving employers <br />Participants placed with employers for WEX will be prescreened based on <br />employers' standards and expectations. All participants will also have participated in <br />work readiness workshops prior to WEX placement. Follow up with employers will <br />take place regularly in order to assist the employer with any additional training or <br />skills needed for the participant to be successful during the program. <br />16.
