C <br />Manuel Barrios Roadway <br />Education: BS/2000/Civil Engineering/ University of California, Irvine <br />Years' Experience: 16 <br />Serving as a lead engineer, Manuel Barrios has worked on a variety of public agency projects involving <br />roadway design and plan preparation and a wide range of public works, capital improvement and land <br />development projects for various cities throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Manuel has <br />delivered projects for both horizontal and vertical design for public agencies such as the Los Angeles <br />County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) and the Los Angeles Bureau of <br />Engineering/Department of Engineering (LABOE/DOT). He has served as project engineer for several <br />public agencies to construct, widen and improve roadways, determine utility relocations, design and <br />prepare grading, drainage, sewer and water utility and site improvement plans. Manuel has a consistent track record of <br />successful project completion well within time and budget constraints. <br />RELEVANT EXPERIENCE <br />1.605 Arterial Hotspots, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro), La <br />Mirada and Santa Fe Springs, CA. Design engineer for professional engineering services to complete <br />the PS&E for two intersection improvement projects led by LA Metro in collaboration with the Cities of <br />La Mirada and Santa Fe Springs. The intersection improvements are at two Valley View Avenue <br />locations, Alondra Boulevard and Rosecrans Avenue, <br />Phase 2 Neighborhood Street Rehabilitation, City of La Mirada, CA. Design engineer for roadway <br />improvements, street resurfacing and appurtenant Infrastructure repairs. Provided PS&E for bidding <br />and construction of the proposed improvements. The Intent of this project was to renovate the <br />roadway pavement and hardscape leaving the neighborhood with a like new appearance. APP's initial <br />recommendation was to mill half an inch of the existing pavement (avoiding impacting the existing <br />macadam), construct 2 inches of new pavement for most of the roadway, remove 4 inches of thef <br />outside 6 feet of asphalt concrete (AC) macadam and construct 4 inches of new AC pavement and <br />resulted in significant cost savings for the City relative to the approach they used in previous years. <br />a <br />Arterial Pavement Rehabilitation, City of San Juan Capistrano, CA. Design engineer for engineering <br />', f <br />design services. The project includes preparing plans, specifications and cost estimates (PS&E) for the <br />rehabilitation and resurfacing of streets as part of the City's Arterial Pavement Rehabilitation Project <br />(CIP 15104) for Fiscal Years 2014-15 and 2015-2016. <br />Hacienda/Whittier Intersection Improvements, City of La Habra, CA. Design engineer for the design of <br />roadway improvements in the City of La Habra. Project included the design of roadway widening, <br />median, sidewalk and offsite improvements, preparation of TCEs and plats, and processing through <br />Caltrans for Fact Sheet and encroachment permit approvals. <br />On Call Design Pavement Rehabilitation, Atherton Street, City of Long Beach, CA. Project engineer <br />helping the project team and City to determine street rehabilitation recommendations based on visual <br />field inspections for approximately 2,000 feet along Atherton Street. The project consists on <br />determining the limits of concrete Improvements to be replaced (curb, curb and gutter, sidewalk and <br />j <br />cross gutters) along with also evaluating ADA compliance and replacing ramps if nonconforming. The <br />overall work will Include the construction bid documents in the form of final plans along with providing <br />;. <br />specifications and estimates. <br />Temple Mills Sidewalk, City of Laguna Beach, CA.
