TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />MEETING AND RECONVENED WITH SAME MEMBERS PRESENT AT 8:59 P.M. <br />COMMENTS <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />• Dale Helvig, requested Councilmember Solorio to take a position to support Park Santiago <br />residents against 2525 Main Street development. <br />o Councilmember Solorio, asked City Attorney Carvalho if it is appropriate for <br />councilmembers to take a position before environmental review is completed. <br />o City Attorney Carvalho, advised councilmembers who wish to participate in the decision <br />process on 2525 Main Street development to not formulate a position on the issue or <br />risk a violation of due process. <br />• Steve Gorgone, opined 2525 Main Street development is not a solution to housing crises, <br />negative impact on surrounding areas, any new development must add beauty to the <br />neighborhood. <br />• Miguel Hernandez, expressed support for conversion to district elections and need for <br />change as soon as possible. <br />• Rory Kirk, express concern over 2525 Main Street development; Park Santiago would be <br />negatively impacted if development is approved. <br />• Sue McDonald, opined Park Santiago is special because of its history, past city efforts to <br />preserve neighborhood, and negative impact to neighborhood,, <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 23 JULY 3, 2018 <br />
