PROPOSAL <br />Civic CenterStrarrnwater'LitStattan Renovation Design Servicas <br />Kari Meier, P.E. <br />Technical Review <br />Mr. Meier has extensive experience in the preparation of <br />construction plans, specifications and cost estimates for large <br />water, wastewater, and storm water projects. Mr. Meier's <br />previous employment as the Engineering Manager of a southern <br />California water district has provided him with an advanced <br />understanding of water distribution facilities and operations. Mr. <br />Meier has collaborated on comprehensive master plans for <br />domestic water distribution systems and wastewater collection <br />systems for planned residential and commercial developments, <br />as well as for large municipal systems. He also has construction <br />management experience related to public works including water <br />infrastructure, park improvements, and ADA improvements. Mr. <br />Meier is an expert with a variety of software applications. <br />Project Experience <br />North Bank Lift Station Upgrades, San Buenaventura, <br />California. City of San Buenaventura, Project Manager. <br />Responsible for developing a Preliminary Design Report (PDR) <br />to analyze existing operation and maintenance issues and <br />identify upgrades required to allow this existing dry-pit(wet pit <br />sewage lift station and 4,300 ft long 14 -inch force main to <br />accommodate peak flows generated by future planned <br />development. Detailed analyses and evaluations of the existing <br />lift station wet well, suction piping, discharge piping, force <br />main, pumps and electrical system were conducted with <br />deficiencies and capacity limitations identified. Upgrade <br />alternatives were identified to alleviate the identified <br />deficiencies and capacity limitations with cost estimates <br />prepared for each alternative configuration proposed. <br />In addition to the detailed analyses and the preparation of a <br />comprehensive PDR, two workshops with City operations and <br />maintenance staff were conducted to discuss on-going <br />maintenance and operation issues so that these items could be <br />incorporated into the proposed upgrade alternatives. <br />Los Alamitos Pump Station and Retarding Basin, Orange <br />and Los Angeles; Counties, California. Orange County <br />Water District. Engineer, Michael Baker prepared plans, <br />specifications, and estimates for a new 800 cfs storm water <br />pump station with engine driven pumps to replace the existing <br />Los Alamitos facility for the County of Orange. The project <br />included four natural gas engine driven mixed flow pumps, and <br />a sump pump system with a capacity of 3,000 gpm.
