MEMORANDUM
To: Planning Commission
Vince Fregoso, AICP
From: Acting Planning Manager
Subject: PUBLIC NOTICING INFORMATION
www.santa-ana.org
Date: August 20, 2015
At a prior Planning Commission meeting, the Commission inquired about the noticing methods
used by the Planning Division for projects that require a public hearing. The Planning Division
uses three methods of notification for public hearings: The publishing of a notice in a local
newspaper at least 10 days prior to the hearing, the mailing of a letter to all property owners
and tenants within 500 feet of the site (State Law requires mailings to property owners within
300 feet of a site), and the posting of a Public Hearing Notice on the project site.
Attached for your review are samples of the various notices. I am available to answer any
questions that you may have.
Vince Fregoso,
VF:VF
vflmemoTublic Noticing.pc
Attachments
Exhibit A —
Sample Newspaper Notice
Exhibit B —
Sample Public Hearing Letter
Exhibit C —
Sample Property Posting Notice
