Award Purchase Order for Volumetric Cement Truck <br />August 21, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on May 30, 2018, on the City's online bid management <br />and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />69 Vendors notified <br />7 Vendors downloaded bid packet <br />1 Bid received <br />0 Bid received from Santa Ana vendors <br />The bid was opened on June 27, 2018, and evaluated. The bid received from Los Angeles Truck <br />Centers, LLC, is responsive to the specifications and meets the City requirements. Pricing of raw <br />materials required to manufacture a volumetric cement trucks are highly volatile. As such, a <br />$10,000 contingency has been included in the award amount to allow for unanticipated <br />commodity surcharges in the metal market between now and the time the vendor begins <br />production. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Strategic Plan Goal #6 — Community <br />Facilities & Infrastructure, Objective #2 (address deferred maintenance on City buildings and <br />equipment). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $321,285 are available for expenditure in the FY 2018-19 Water System <br />Maintenance account (No. 06017641-66400). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />7 <br />Fuad Sweiss, PE,PLS Sergio Vidal #bv <br />Execute a Director Assistant Director <br />Public Works Agency Finance and Management Services Agency <br />FSS/FG/CL/sm/sp <br />Exhibit 1: Mixer Truck Diagram and Specifications <br />22A-2 <br />
