References <br />On -Call Services for the Orange County Great Park, Irvine, California <br />Reference: Gregg Gipe, City of Irvine <br />(949) 724-6000; ggipe@cityofirvine.org <br />Ninyo & Moore is providing on-call environmental <br />services for the City of Irvine for their Orange County <br />Great Park project. The former Marine Corps Air <br />Station EI Toro is being transformed into the Orange <br />County Great Park located in the geographic center of <br />Orange County. A project area spanning approximately <br />4,600 acres, with more than 200 acres developed and <br />688 acres In planning and design and fully funded, the <br />Great Park master plan includes recreation; competitive <br />sports facilities and parkland; preserves the <br />environment and Orange County's agricultural heritage; <br />and honors the military history of the former air base. <br />Future plans include a 188 -acre golf course and golf <br />practice facility and clubhouse, 71 -acre agriculture <br />component, a 40 -acre Bosque area near the Trabuco <br />entrance, 36 -acre Upper Bee Canyon area and improvements that will connect the Great Park to Irvine <br />Boulevard, as well as the 178 -acre Wildlife Corridor. Upon completion, the Orange County Great Park <br />will join America's inventory of national treasures and set a new standard for great metropolitan parks <br />around the world. <br />Ninyo & Moore's on-call environmental support contract includes providing environmental consulting, <br />observation, monitoring, and reporting related to the demolition of existing facilities and the construction <br />of the Great Park by the developer who is currently developing 688 acres into a sports park with 18 new <br />soccer and multi -use fields, 25 tennis courts, 4 sports courts, 12 baseball/softball fields, and 5 sand <br />volleyball courts. To date services have included the oversight of removal of non -recyclable, non- <br />hazardous, and hazardous materials encountered during demolition and grading. We are expected to <br />respond within 4 hours to assist with health and safety evaluations; identification, abatement, <br />remediation, or legal disposal of contaminated soil, lead-based paint, asbestos -containing materials, <br />underground storage tanks, drums, wastes, pipelines, and the litany of other materials that might have <br />been used, abandoned, and not documented at a military facility of this type and vintage. Ninyo & Moore <br />has responded to more than 10 callouts to -date and completed assessments; provided oversight during <br />soil removal and disposal activities performed by the City's remediation contractor; performed <br />confirmation sampling and clearances; and prepared closure reports for the sites. Ninyo & Moore is also <br />assisting the City with negotiations with the developer and risk assessment support related to on site <br />reuse of contaminated materials removed from the various demolition activities at the site <br />Tracks at Brea Project, Remedial Action Plans and Oversight, Brea, California <br />Reference: Roslyn Lau, City of Brea <br />(714)671-4483; roslynl@cityofbrea.net <br />Ninyo & Moore was retained to provide environmental <br />services for the proposed Tracks at Brea Project In the <br />City of Brea, California. The project Involved <br />preparation of remedial action plans (RAPs) for two <br />sites Identified with shallow arsenic contamination <br />along the approximately 3.5 mile dual -tread pedestrian <br />and bicycle trail to be developed along a railroad <br />corridor utilizing abandoned railroad rights-of-way and <br />other properties. The trail amenities included a parking <br />lot, landscaping, lighting, benches, and signage. A <br />Mitigated Negative Declaration and a Phase I and <br />Phase II ESAs have been completed for the sites. The <br />RAPS were developed based on the results of Phase II <br />Investigations performed at the two sites.
