APPROVE LEGAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH ATKINSON, ANDELSON, <br />LOYA, RUUD & ROMO, APLC, RELATED TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND <br />LITIGATION MATTERS FOR PERSONNEL, POLICE, AND GENERAL <br />LIABILITY {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 1, 3, 4, 5} – City Attorney’s Office and Human <br />Resources Department <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the <br />Council to execute on-call legal services agreement with the law firm of Atkinson, <br />Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo, APLC, (“AALRR”) related to administrative and <br />litigation matters concerning general liability, personnel and police for a three (3) <br />year term ending on August 20, 2021, with an option to extend the term for up to one <br />(1) year, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, including any extension period, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and the City <br />Attorney (AGMT. No. 2018-XXX). <br /> <br /> <br />25D. APPROVE AN AGREEMENT AMENDMENT WITH VALLEY MAINTENANCE <br />CORPORATION FOR EXPANDED CUSTODIAL SERVICES AT PARK <br />RESTROOMS AND INCLUDE THE ROOSEVELT/WALKER COMMUNITY <br />CENTER {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1B} – Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Agency <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the <br />Council to execute an amendment to the agreement with Valley Maintenance <br />Corporation to provide expanded custodial services at park restrooms and include <br />the Roosevelt/Walker Community Center into the base agreement by increasing the <br />annual agreement amount by $186,200 (prorated at $139,650 for the remaining <br />portion of current term), which includes a 10% contingency, from September 1, 2018 <br />through May 31, 2019, with two, one-year renewal options, for a total cost (original <br />and amendments) of $1,653,536 over the term of the contract, including renewals, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney <br />(AGMT. APPROVE A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE UNITED <br />STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY WESTERN ECOLOGICAL RESOURCE <br />CENTER TO COLLABORATE ON RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND OUTREACH <br />PROGRAMS AT THE SANTA ANA ZOO {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 2, 2E} – Parks, <br />Recreation and Community Services Agency <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the <br />Council to execute a memorandum of understanding with the United States <br />Geological Survey Western Ecological Resource Center to collaborate on research, <br />education and outreach programs in the field of resource conservation and <br />environmental science at the Santa Ana Zoo for a five-year period from October 22, <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA 10 AUGUST 21, 2018 <br /> <br /> <br />
