TB 8.21.2018 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018-061 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FY2016 URBAN <br />AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE SUB -RECIPIENT FUNDING <br />AND APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The United States Department of Homeland Security has developed the Urban <br />Areas Security Initiative funding program (UASI). UASI provides funds to local <br />emergency first responders to purchase equipment, planning, training, <br />exercises and technical assistance to enhance security and preparedness to <br />prevent, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. <br />B. In FY 2006, the United States Department of Homeland Security combined the <br />Anaheim and Santa Ana Urban Areas into a single Urban Area, and provided <br />for shared administrative responsibilities between Santa Ana and Anaheim. In <br />FY 2016, the City of Anaheim is the lead administrative agency for UASI <br />funding. <br />C. The City of Santa Ana was awarded funding from the City of Anaheim for fiscal <br />year 2016 UASI in the amount of $1,792,522 which it accepted by way of City <br />Council Resolution No. 2017-019 dated May 16, 2017. <br />D. The City of Santa Ana was notified that additional funds have been awarded <br />from the City of Anaheim for fiscal year 2016 UASI in the amount of $247,470. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police or their designee(s) to accept an <br />additional $247,470 in FY 2016 Urban Areas Security Initiative funding, increasing the <br />sub -recipient award from $1,792,522 to $2,039,992. <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves an <br />Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the FY 2016 Urban Area Security Initiative in the <br />additional amount of $247,470 and appropriates the same in the FY 2016 Urban Area <br />Security Initiative Program Grant expenditure accounts. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2018-061 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
