Principal Civil Engineer Jason Gabriel, provide brief presentation and <br />background. Noted lot does not have independent utility, is too small for <br />residential property, and is of odd shape. <br />Councilmember Benavides, opined need to mitigate any impacts on surrounding <br />residential homes. Noted elimination of parking in order to widen Bristol street. <br />Councilmember Solorio, expressed concern property is being sold without <br />pursuing an open process and opined need to approach the sale of any city <br />owned lot in a fair manner that is open to all. Expressed opposition to the sale of <br />the property without an open process. <br />Councilmember Villegas, asked staff if lots along Bristol are tied to <br />transportation project and where sale proceeds would go. Noted current lot is <br />unique and small, not all properties on Bristol are for sale, and need to not <br />mislead the public. <br />City Manager Godinez, noted proceeds from sale of properties that were initially <br />purchased with transportation funds would need to go towards transportation <br />projects, property is too small and is not adjacent to other empty lots that could <br />be assembled to assist in the use and sale of the lot. Opined administrative <br />policy as to sale of city owned property is ready to be presented to City Council. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Martinez, echoed statements made by Councilmember Solorio. <br />Expressed opposition to item. Opined need to implement policy before the sale <br />of any city owned property, staff to consider return on investment to city, and <br />any fiscal impacts. <br />Public Works Director Fuad Sweiss, noted city has over 90 parcels, current lot in <br />consideration is unique, has limited use, and would be difficult to find use. <br />MOTION: Adopt a resolution.
