Requested city council assistance in <br />addressing issue. <br />• Peter A. Katz, expressed concern over sales tax. Opined City of Santa Ana will have a <br />higher tax rate than other cities. <br />• Dale Helvig, expressed support for responsible development. Noted environmental report <br />is now available and councilmembers should be asking questions. <br />• Maria G. Beltran, addressed City Council to request assistance to address homeless <br />issue. CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS <br />City Manager Godinez, provided City Council with update on Willowick vision <br />plan, upcoming workshop, police department community input process for the <br />new policing philosophy, and Santa Ana Works Center ribbon cutting ceremony. <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />• Councilmember Tinajero, noted Valley High School ribbon cutting ceremony and <br />opined positive events in the city improve quality of life. <br />• Mayor Pro Tem Martinez, opined homeless issue is getting worse, need to provide <br />services to homeless, and responsibility to protect city assets. Asked status of cyber <br />cafe and gaming, and possibility of banning them. <br />• Councilmember Solorio, noted opportunity to move Works Center to City Hall once <br />lease is up and upcoming update on RV parking. Expressed concern as to delay in <br />carrying out Willowick project and cyber cafe operating on 17th Street. Opined city <br />can enforce current laws but must be careful in doing so. <br />• Councilmember Villegas, provided City Council with report on Youth, Education, <br />and Community Services Council Committee and Orange County Justice Center <br />tour.
