It was built in <br />1938 and the first known residents were Merton David (M.D.) Butler and Tessie Childers Butler. M.D. Butler was a successful <br />businessman, well known as a hatcheryman and leader in the poultry industry. Tessie Butler taught junior high school for <br />several years in Santa Ana. According to city directories, the next resident was Forrest E.
