HOUSING 101 INFORMATION SESSION <br /> <br />Housing Division Manager Brown, Housing Programs Analyst Perez and Senior Planner <br />Pezeshkpour provided a presentation on Affordable Housing. The presentation reviewed <br />the following topics: <br /> <br /> What is affordable housing? <br /> Why do we need it? <br />o Regional Housing Needs Assessment <br /> Who needs it? <br />o Santa Ana Median Household Income <br />o Affordable Housing Income Limits <br /> Where is it and what does it look like? <br /> How is affordable housing created? <br />o Affordability Covenants and Monitoring <br />o Housing Choice Voucher Program <br /> State’s Density Bonus Law <br /> Inclusionary Housing/Housing Opportunity Ordinance (HOO) <br /> Other relevant laws <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the housing waitlist process, rent maximums, state funded <br />vouchers, and federal funding for Section 8 vouchers. <br /> <br /> <br />A-4
