Recommendation <br />►Adopt Worker Cooperative Policy <br />within Economic Development. <br />►Support Formation of Business <br />Improvement Districts within <br />Economic Development. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Martinez, request staff to identify next step. Expressed <br />support for policy under the condition item is presented to City Council on <br />an annual basis for review. <br />Director Mendoza, recommended Council provide direction to staff to bring <br />forth policy instead of ordinance. <br />Councilmember Solorio, requested initiative take into consideration gig <br />economy. <br />COMMENTS <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS (Non Agendized Items) <br />• Peter Katz, expressed opposition to sales tax measure. Opined tax would be the <br />highest in Orange County. <br />• John Sharpe, extended invitation to Council to attend L.A. Peace Summit. Noted <br />organization goal to implement peace curriculum in school system. <br />• Chris Schmidt, noted permit parking approval process is inadequate. Opined City <br />Council has failed to meet the needs of the residents. <br />• Dale Helvig, opposed to 2525 Main Street development.
