Staff Training <br />All Emergency Shelter Program staff will be trained when hired in emergency evacuation, first aid <br />procedures, mandated reporting policies, crisis intervention, and CPR procedures. This training will be <br />repeated and updated annually and as needed. Staff may receive additional training on different topics <br />as opportunities arise and are needed. <br />Each staff member also receives on-going in-service training in crisis management, strength based <br />approaches, and trauma informed care, motivational Interviewing, mediation, and positive <br />communication skills. <br />Security staff will be provided sensitivity training to better equip them to work with homeless clients, <br />and those in crisis. <br />11 <br />25C-23 <br />
