Proposal to provide <br />Landscape Architectural Design for 6th & Lacy Park - RFP No. 18-038 <br />L2 Expansion Index <br />a Soils Corrosivity <br />* Sieve Analysis <br />a Laboratory Maximum Density <br />e Direct Shear <br />Report Preparation <br />Data obtained from the exploratory borings and the <br />laboratory testing program will be evaluated. A report <br />will be prepared which will include the following <br />items: <br />Project Description. <br />a Site Description. <br />Discussion on the field procedure used in the <br />investigation. <br />A discussion of the materials encountered in <br />the borings and their measured engineering <br />properties. <br />r� Logs of the exploratory borings summarizing the <br />subsurface conditions encountered, and a plan <br />indicating the locations of the explorations. <br />o Depth to groundwater (if encountered) and its <br />impact on the proposed development. <br />r, Discussion on the laboratory tests result. <br />u Discussion on the regional and local geology. <br />t! Location of active faults relative to the site and its <br />impact. <br />• Secondary effects of earthquake. <br />u Design seismic coefficient based on the 2016 <br />CBC. <br />r, Water infiltration rate. <br />Grading recommendations, including removal of <br />unsuitable soils. <br />c3 Shrinkage and subsidence coefficients <br />D Subgrade preparation for slab, foundation and <br />walkway. <br />n Excavatability of site soils. <br />Soils bearing pressure for shallow foundation <br />design. <br />n Lateral earth pressures. <br />c, Light pole foundation design and construction <br />recommendations. <br />u Sidewalk and flatwork recommendations. <br />Task 5 — Design Development Plans (50%) <br />Based on the approved conceptual plan. DEA <br />will prepare a 50% design development package <br />including landscape architectural, civil and electrical <br />engineering plans, in addition to draft technical <br />specifications and a preliminary cost estimate. <br />Deliverables: Preparation of a design development <br />level PS&E package as described above. <br />CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT PHASE (90% and <br />100% plans) <br />Deliverables during the construction document phase <br />are as follows: Two full sets of the construction <br />documents for review at 90% in addition to one <br />electronic PDF copy on CD in AutoCAD. At 100% <br />completion, DEA will provide two full sized sets of <br />signed and sealed bond copies in addition to one <br />electronic PDF copy. Technical specifications shall <br />also be reviewed at 90% and 100% completion and <br />prepared in accordance with City requirements. Two <br />hard copies and two electronic copies (MS Word and <br />PDF) will be provided at each of the 90% and 100% <br />submittals. <br />Task 6 — Project Meetings <br />The DEA team will attend up to three meetings <br />with staff throughout the duration of the project in <br />addition to the start-up meeting. Fees are based on <br />an average meeting time of 3.5 hours which includes <br />travel time. If additional meetings are required or <br />desired, they will be charged on a time and material <br />basis and approved by the City prior to attendance. <br />Deliverables: Attendance at up to 3 project meetings <br />during the design development / construction <br />document phase of work. <br />Task 7 — Site Utility Plan <br />DEAwill perform utility research in preparation of <br />the preparation of a site utility plan. This research <br />will include searching for available record utility <br />data within or adjacent to the project limits. DEA <br />will gather available information from the utility <br />purveyors regarding their facilities in the project area. <br />Underground plan utilities will be mapped by record <br />public information only; subsurface utilities that are <br />not identified on existing record maps will not be <br />shown. The record utility information will be used to <br />determine points of connection for sewer, irrigation <br />and domestic water in the preparation of a site utility <br />plan. DEA's engineers will prepare the composite site <br />sewer and domestic water plan. DEA's Landscape <br />Architects will prepare the site irrigation plan as <br />noted below. <br />Deliverables: Data collection, utility research <br />and the preparation of a site utility plan to provide <br />irrigation and domestic water to the project site. <br />8 1 May 21, 2018 1 David Evans and Associates, Inc. <br />
