0ATUNIM <br />In fiscal year 2017.2018, 100 MUD-VASH (for homeless U.S. Military Veterans) vouchers were awarded to the <br />City for future permanent supportive housing projects and an application was submitted for an additional 100 <br />HUD-VASH vouchers. The City also assisted individuals transition to housing and independent living by providing <br />Street Outreach, Shelter, Rapid Re -housing and Homeless Prevention funding to organizations who work closely <br />with the Continuum of Care's Coordinated Entry System. It is through this system of care that individuals or <br />families are prioritized using the VI-SPDAT survey and then assisted to become document -ready for housing. <br />Shortening the period of time that individuals and families experience homelessness is one of the goals of the <br />City and the Continuum of Care. <br />In FY 2017 the City of Santa Ana utilized its ESG funds to support two <br />services to Santa Ana homeless. <br />While California struggles with high costs of rent, Housing First <br />provide permanent housing for homeless persons. <br />OMB Control No, 2506-0117 (exp. 06/30/2018) <br />CAPER <br />75A-26 <br />rapid rehousing <br />being`mplemented in Santa Ana to <br />16 <br />
