Resolution — Police Department Hiring Incentives <br />October 2, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />The Employee Referral Incentive Program will provide a $1,000 incentive to City employees who <br />refer successful candidates to the Police Department. The applicant must list the referring <br />employee on his/her application for employment. Most full-time and part-time City employees will <br />be eligible. Employees working for City Human Resources, PD Human Resources, or are assigned <br />to Police Officer recruitment efforts are not eligible. The City employee will receive $1,000 when <br />the Police Officer successfully completes the Santa Ana Police Department's Field Training <br />Program. <br />This resolution authorizes the City Manager to implement an Employee Referral Incentive Program <br />for a one-year period in the amount of $ 25,000 per fiscal year. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal # 1 Community Safety, Objective #1 <br />(Modernize the Community Policing philosophy to improve customer service, crime prevention and <br />traffic/pedestrian/bicycle safety.), Strategy I (Enhance public safety efforts by improving our <br />employee retention efforts and actively seeking a diverse and talented pool of public safety <br />candidates who possess the values and skills consistent with organizational goals). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funding for this program in the amount of $25,000 is available in the Police Department's FY 2018- <br />19 Field Operations Salaries Regular account (no. 01114420 61000). <br />N, <br />Steven PhanV <br />Executive Director <br />Human Resources Agency <br />a Valentin <br />Chief of Police <br />Santa Ana Police Department <br />Exhibit: 1.
