Name of Applicant: Award Amount: Category: Average Score: <br />The Orange County $6,770 Organization 93 — 2nd <br />Center for <br />Contemporary Art <br />(OCCCA) <br />Organization's Description of Project: <br />"Art For All" Arts Outreach Program (AFA), facilitated by the Orange County Center for <br />Contemporary Art, provides Free art workshops to the Santa Ana Community. "AFA" offers <br />participants (of all ages and skill levels), the opportunity to learn to create artworks in a variety of <br />mixed media. <br />AFA will reach out to the underserved population of students from the Santa Ana Unified School <br />District through a 3 -month series of hands-on arts art workshops, art fieldtrips and guest artist <br />presentations. Students will explore various landscapes, venues and artists that represent the <br />cultural richness and beauty of Santa Ana's History. <br />Organization is based in Santa Ana and proposes to use grant funds to provide arts and culture <br />programming in Ward 2. <br />Organization's proposed use of funds: <br />We are asking for funding for an Art For All (AFA), Arts Outreach to Garfield Elementary School, <br />in SAUSD. The proposed AFA Arts Outreach Workshop series will be provided to participating <br />Garfield students and will run for approx. 3 months with one art workshop perweek, (during school <br />hours), for a total of 12 workshops. Themes will focus on the History and Culture of Santa Ana. <br />Workshops will include: hands-on art making, art field trips and guest artist presentations. <br />Proposed dates: Weekly from January 16, 2018 through April 10th, 2019. (day- time tba). A <br />student art exhibition (of works created in the workshops) to culminate the experience will be held <br />in May or June 2019. (date tba) <br />Funding will pay for: Hands-on Art Workshops, Art Field trips, Guest Artist Presentations, Art <br />Workshop Supplies and Bus Rental. <br />Request for $10,000 <br />(see detailed narrative below) <br />1. Artist -Educator Stipends for prep / teaching art workshops: $7,200 Total <br />12 workshops @ $300 per workshop x 2 educators = (Two Artist -educators @ $3,600 each) <br />Workshops Stipends Include all the work time involved in prepping and teaching the workshops: <br />Artist Educators will be creating lesson plans, pre -lesson PowerPoint presentation for students, <br />purchasing and preparing art supplies for workshops. They will also be facilitating the hands-on <br />art workshops and presentations in the classroom and on various field trips. For the culmination <br />they will be selecting and preparing artwork for student art exhibition. (Our OCCCA Artist Educator <br />team has decades of professional experience as practicing fine artists and art educators.) <br />2.
