Include design, materials, condition, alterations, size, setting, and boundaries) The Martian House is located on the north side of Heliotrope Drive, in Floral Park, and is a 1 1/2 story single-family residence constructed in the Colonial Revival style, with an attached side gable garage on the south elevation. L-shaped and asymmetrical in plan, the house has a steep pitched open roof with a cross gable at the west elevation, and open gables on the north and south elevations, clad in cement fiber shake. Three dormers are located on the north elevation with multi -light fixed windows. The exterior is clad in horizontal wood siding, and the building has brick chimneys on the primary and rear elevation. The fenestration consists of symmetrically fashioned original multi -light single -hung wood windows on the north elevation, adorned with wood shutters. The main entry to the building is recessed with sidelights flanking the doorway, and is accessed via a poured concrete two-step stair clad in brick steps. The property is landscaped with a mature tree, a lawn, low vegetation and simple walkway at the front setback, with a hedge separating the property from the property to the north.
