ARTICLE V <br />5.0 ASSIGNMENT & OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br />5.1 Assignment Pay Differential <br />Any full time SEN bargaining unit member(s) receiving assignment pay <br />differential who moves into the SEN PT CS bargaining unit during the term of <br />this Agreement will continue to receive assignment pay differential if that <br />member(s) continue performing the job duties for which the assignment pay <br />differential was originally given. <br />5.2 Lead Pay. An incumbent who is regularly and continuously assigned to lead a <br />functional unit which includes two (2) or more Part Time Civil Service positions <br />in the same or lower classifications as the incumbent may be compensated at a rate <br />of ten (10) salary rate ranges (approximately 5%) for said duties upon mutual <br />agreement of the City and SEN and approval of the Executive Director of the <br />affected department and the Executive Director of Personnel Services. This <br />compensation shall be referred to as "lead pay." <br />5.3 Bilingual P, ay, An employee who is assigned by an Executive Director or his or her <br />designee to a position requiring bilingual capability in both English and any <br />languages designated by the Orange County Registrar of Voters as necessary for <br />official voting information and/or the federal Voting Rights Act, shall be paid a <br />monthly assignment pay differential in accordance with the criteria and amounts <br />set forth below: <br />A. Certification by the Executive Director of Personnel Services as having <br />satisfactorily demonstrated' conversational fluency in both languages for any <br />position requiring bilingual capacity. <br />B. Positions where it has been determined by the Executive Director of the <br />affected department that bilingual proficiency is essential to carry out duties <br />and responsibilities of a critical and/or emergency nature without ready access <br />to backup assistance, or positions where bilingual public contact is a major, <br />essential or integral element of the work being performed, shall be designated <br />as Primary Bilingual Assignments. A qualified incumbent of such position <br />shall be paid a prorated amount based on $175 per 173.33 hours above his or <br />her then current base hourly salary step. <br />12 <br />
