STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Executive Director Thai <br /> Introduced himself as the new Executive Director of the Planning & Building Agency. <br /> Indicated that a work study session will be scheduled to review the Commission’s <br />powers and duties and the Brown Act; an update on the Resolution to the 2525 N. <br />Main Street Project will also be provided at an upcoming meeting. <br /> <br />Senior Planner McCann <br /> Provided update on the following properties: <br />o 1002 W. Washington – building permits issued. <br />o 718 S. Broadway – building permits issued. <br />o 625 S. Cypress – building improvements are still underway. <br /> Provided update on the number of pending applications; 17 remaining applications, <br />12 are ineligible. <br /> Starting July 1, all fees will increase; a fee study will go before City Council in <br />October; City’s stance is cost recovery. <br /> Historic Resources webpage has been updated. <br /> <br />8. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Hitterdale <br /> Thanked Commissioner Hardy and Commissioner Rush for accepting the ad hoc <br />committee nomination. <br /> Impressed with the interest that property owners have in the history of their <br />property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rush <br /> Thanked Commissioner Hardy and Commissioner Rush for accepting the ad hoc <br />committee nomination. <br /> Opined that application fees are too high. <br /> <br />Commissioner Murashie <br /> Thanked Commissioner Hardy and Commissioner Rush for accepting the ad hoc <br />committee nomination. <br /> Thanked applicants and staff. <br /> Provided information on the Old Town Orange Plaza periodical. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Schaeffer <br /> Inquired about the Pacific Symphony Hall Building. <br />o Staff reported they have met with the property owner; discussion ensued <br />regarding the challenges the property owner faces.
