<br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 APRIL 26, 2018 <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />3. STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Executive Director Thai <br /> Provided update on resolution in opposition to the project proposed at 2525 N. Main <br />Street; clarified the roles and responsibilities of the Commission; indicated that a <br />resolution in opposition is outside the purview of the Commission as the project does <br />not have historic relevance; encouraged Commissioners to comment on the project as <br />private citizens to City Council or Planning Commission. Commission generally agreed <br />that the project will have a negative impact on adjacent neighborhood of Santiago Park <br />as it is historically sensitive. Discussion ensued regarding the process of designating <br />Santiago Park as a historic district. <br /> <br />Planning Manager Neal <br /> Reported Historic Resources matters will be transferred from Advanced Planning <br />Section to Current Planning Section; Pedro Gomez will be the primary contact. <br /> Provided update on the Historic Awards Program. <br />o Outreach has been conducted; no applications have been received; may <br />extend application submission deadline. <br /> <br /> <br />4. COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Murashie <br /> Inquired about Mills Act fees. <br />o Staff responded that staff is awaiting outcome of the fee study. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hitterdale <br /> Thanked Assistant City Attorney Storck for her presentation. <br /> Will not attend the meeting on August 2. <br /> <br />Commissioner Rush <br /> Inquired about the YMCA building. <br />o Staff responded that Community Development Agency has requested <br />proposals. <br /> Would like to discuss manufactured homes in historically sensitive neighborhoods <br />at a future meeting. <br /> Henninger Park needs to be added to the State Registrar. <br /> <br />Commissioner Murashie <br /> Thanked Assistant City Attorney Storck for her presentation. <br /> Congratulated Chairperson Christy and Vice Chairperson Schaeffer on elections. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A-4
