Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF) is a model program relying on a public- <br />private sector and non-profit partnership including the Anaheim Police Department (APD) as the lead <br />law enforcement agency; the Orange County District Attorney's Office, which, provides both <br />misdemeanor and felony case vertical prosecution through its Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit <br />(HEAT); and Wayfinders as the lead victim service -providing agency. The Task Force is strengthened <br />by partnerships with federal, state and local agencies, and supported by many additional private sector <br />and non-profit organizations. <br />Orange County is a unique model of true collaborative efforts. The OCHTTF has fostered rich <br />partnerships which have empowered law enforcement agencies to work across jurisdictions to ensure <br />successful identification and rescue of human trafficking victims and the eventual prosecution of <br />trafficking perpetrators. <br />Scope of Collaborative Relationships: <br />The new collaborative partnership between the APD and the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) will <br />address the four pillars of the task force goal: partnership, protection, prosecution and prevention. The <br />OCHTTF is a collaboration of law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations, faith based <br />organizations, and the community. The purpose of the OCHTTF is to work together to protect victims, <br />prosecute offenders, and prevent further perpetration of this crime in Orange County, CA. The overall <br />goal of the OCHTTF is to eliminate human trafficking in Orange County, California. This task force has <br />made a tremendous impact in addressing all types of human trafficking cases. However, the success of <br />the OCHTTF has highlighted the need to expand this comprehensive and multi -disciplinary approach in <br />the battle against human trafficking.
