• HOUSING OPPORTUNITY ORDINANCE <br />• SANTA ANA TENANT JUSTICE <br />The following spoke on the matter: <br />• Matthew Buck, Vice President of Public Affairs for California Apartment <br />Association, addressed City Council to offer assistance in addressing <br />housing challenges. Opined housing industry will be part of the solution <br />to affordable housing challenges. <br />• Christine Schachter, on behalf of Pacific West Association of Realtors, <br />noted continued partnership in providing housing and affordable housing <br />to all. <br />• Bill Christiansen, Vice President of Govern Affairs for the Apartment <br />Association of Orange County, expressed interest in being partners with <br />the City and to become part of the solution. <br />• Hairo Cortes; opined opportunity to create concrete policy solutions that <br />protect residents right to remain and thrive. <br />• Isuri Ramos, on behalf of Kennedy Commission, in support of demands <br />to allow Santa Ana residents to remain and thrive and of a tenant -based <br />rental assistance program. <br />• Sarai Arpero, noted dedication and struggle to obtain signatures and <br />support for rent control initiative. Express concern as to high rents and <br />resulting financial burden. <br />• Idalia Rios, addressed City Council to request support towards Remain <br />and Prosper platform. Opined housing is an issue that affects all. <br />• Juan Carlos Machado, in support of rent control. Opined need of <br />affordable housing for all. <br />• Reyna Artero, expressed support of Remain and Prosper platform. <br />Addressed City Council to submit Tennant Opportunity to Purchase Act <br />proposal. <br />• Karen Rodriguez, opposed to sale of public land without a process that <br />allows the community to directly benefit from the development from the <br />lots and allows residents direct decision making. <br />• Enrique Valencia, in support of Peoples platform to Remain and <br />Prosper. Expressed concern over lead soil contamination. <br />• Moises Vasquez, opined need to invest in youth and in rent control. <br />• Emily Perraza, in support of rent control in Santa Ana. <br />• Araceli Robles, addressed City Council to request support of rent control <br />measure and express concern over lack of affordable housing. <br />• Doinicia Gabriel, requested City Council to approve renter's right <br />protection initiative. In support of Remain and Prosper platform. <br />• Alma Leyva, in support of People's platform.
