Amendment to Mercy Housing Living Centers, Inc. Agreement <br />December 18, 2018 <br />Page 3 <br />the country are using Housing Navigators to assist homeless populations to find housing. These <br />include programs in San Diego, Houston and San Francisco, among several other cities. The <br />Housing Navigator will be responsible to expand landlord/property manager participation in <br />various rental assistance programs and work with individuals to place them into housing. In <br />addition, landlords and property managers require a security deposit in the form of the first and <br />last month's rent before a tenant can execute a lease agreement. These large deposits can be <br />obstacles for individuals exiting The Link. The additional $44,000 in ESG funds for Mercy House <br />will provide the necessary assistance many need to be successful in securing a unit. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal #1 — Community Safety, Objective <br /># 6 (Enhance Public Safety Integration, Communication and Community Outreach); Goal # 5 <br />Community Health, Livability, Engagement & Sustainability, Objective #4 (Support neighborhood <br />vitality and livability) and Objective # 6, (Focus projects and programs on improving the health <br />and wellness of all residents). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The Emergency Solutions Grant funds in the amount of $86,781.24 will be carried forward from <br />FY 2017-2018 to FY 2018-2019. Of this total, $44,000 for this amendment will be available in <br />account no. 13518785-69135 for expenditure in FY 2018-2019. <br />Steven A.
