CARE colleagues with questions about the effect <br />of such medication on their performance or who observe an individual who <br />appears to be impaired In the performance of his or her job must immediate- <br />ly consult with their supervisor. <br />CARE may conduct post -accident and reasonable suspicion drug testing of <br />employees to the extent allowable by law. If CARE chooses to do so, drugs <br />tests will be carefully monitored, conducted in an approved and certified la- <br />boratory, and kept confidential. For additional information, see CARE's Ethics_ <br />and Compliance Policies and Procedures. <br />Firearms, Weapons, and Explosive Devices <br />The use or possession of firearms, weapons, and explosive devices on CARE <br />property violates state law, federal law, and CARE's Policies and Procedures. <br />The only exception to this policy is for law enforcement authorities, who may <br />carry otherwise prohibited devices while on regular duty and In the conduct <br />of their responsibilities. We act to preserve our natural l_ re- <br />' _ sources to the full extent reasonably possible. We com- <br />ply with all environmental laws and operate each of <br />our facilities and vehicles with the necessary permits, approvals, and con- <br />trols. We diligently employ the proper procedures to provide a good environ- <br />ment of care and to prevent. pollution. <br />In helping CARE comply with these laws and regulations, all CARE colleagues <br />must understand how job duties may impact the environment, adhere to all <br />requirements for the proper handling of hazardous materials, and Imme& <br />ately alert supervisors to any situation regarding the discharge of a hazard- <br />ous substance, Improper disposal of hazardous and medical waste, or any <br />situation which maybe potentially damaging to the environment. <br />23 <br />250-248 <br />
