Nonprofit CDBG Application Process for FY 2019 - 2020 <br />December 18, 2018 <br />Page 2 <br />Funding will be available for experienced nonprofit organizations for the provision of public <br />services for the following priorities: <br />1) Crime prevention, intervention, and/or suppression efforts for children, youth and/or <br />families; <br />2) Economic development; <br />3) Tenant services, assistance and programs; or <br />4) A Summer Night Lights Program. <br />Proposed programs are required to meet the national objective of an activity that provides a <br />benefit to low- and moderate -income persons and align with the City's Strategic Plan. Nonprofit <br />organizations will have the option of submitting a joint application with other nonprofit <br />organizations to encourage collaboration and non -duplication of efforts in our nonprofit <br />community. <br />As in prior years, organizations will be able to apply for a minimum of $30,000 or a maximum of <br />$75,000 per program. Organizations that submit a joint application may request a maximum of <br />$150,000. Applications will be made available online through a grant management application <br />accessible through the City's website. The grant management application allows for online <br />application submission, rating, and reporting. Staff will be available to assist nonprofits with <br />technical support throughout the application process. <br />The review of applications and recommendations for funding will be performed by the Community <br />Redevelopment and Housing Commission (CRHC). The recommendations from the CRHC will <br />then go to City Council for final consideration and approval. The following is the timeline for this <br />year's application process: <br />Dates <br />Actions <br />January 2, 2019 <br />- Applications distributed to Nonprofit Organizations for Fiscal <br />Year 2019 - 2020 <br />February 4, 2019 <br />- Applications due by 5:00 PM <br />February 5 - March 7, 2019 <br />- Community Redevelopment & Housing Commission review <br />and scoring of applications <br />February 26, 2019 and <br />February 28, 2019 <br />- CRHC Public Hearings for CDBG funding recommendations <br />held from 3:OOPM - 7:OOPM <br />March 7, 2019 <br />- Special CRHC Meeting to deliberate and review scores <br />March 27, 2019 <br />- CRHC Meeting: funding recommendations approved and <br />recommended for approval to City Council <br />April 16, 2019 <br />- City Council Public Hearing for CDBG Program funding <br />approval <br />Nonprofit outreach efforts will include a Nixle press release, a post on the City's Facebook page, <br />e-mails to an internal nonprofit e-mail distribution list, an e-mail to nonprofits on the City's <br />business license list, and a dedicated CDBG webpage at www.santa-ana.orq/cdbq with <br />information on the Nonprofit CDBG Application process. <br />19D-2 <br />
