ADOPT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION <br />FOR GRANT FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT TOTALING $1,170,000 <br />REQUEST UNDER MEASURE M2 COMPREHENSIVE <br />TRANSPORTATION FUNDING PROGRAM {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, <br />1 G) — Public Works Agency <br />Council discussion ensued: <br />Mayor Pro Tem Martinez, unsupportive of item. Opined expansion of <br />arterials would make the City of Santa Ana a pass-thru city, added burden <br />will deteriorate infrastructure, and increase service and maintenance cost. <br />Opined need to pursue other modes of transportation that makes sense. <br />Councilmember Benavides, directed staff to prioritize funding opportunity <br />from Measure M2 funding to address lack of pedestrian walkway on the <br />Fairview Street bridge. <br />City Manager Godinez, highlighted Bristol Street improvements for the <br />Memory Lane intersection is in the second phase and Fairview Street <br />improvements funds will widen streets and will also incorporate active <br />transportation elements. <br />MOTION: <br />1.
