3. Leave Benefits. When an employee is off on a scheduled workday under <br />the 9/80 work schedule, then nine (9) hours of eligible leave per workday <br />shall be charged against the employee's leave balance or eight (9) hours <br />shall be charged if the day off is a Friday. All leaves shall continue under <br />the current accrual, eligibility, request and approval requirements. <br />a. Vacation Leave: As stated in Article IX of this MOU. <br />b. Sick Leave: As stated in Article X of this MOU. <br />C. Bereavement Leave: As stated in Article X of this MOU. <br />d. Holidays: As stated in Article VIII of this MOU. <br />For a recognized City holiday the hours as stated in Article <br />VIII 8.2 C, are earned for each holiday, except for the <br />floating holiday. <br />ii. If a holiday falls on an employee's Friday off, the employee <br />must then take their holiday off before or after the regular <br />holiday as their holiday off with supervisor and Department <br />Head approval. If the employee cannot take their holiday off <br />before or after the regular scheduled holiday off, the <br />employee will bank the hours of holiday leave to be used at <br />a later date with the supervisor's approval. <br />Jury Duty Leave. The provisions of the MOU (Article 10.4) shall <br />continue to apply; however, if an employee is called to serve onjury <br />duty during a normal day off, Saturday, or Sunday, or on a City <br />holiday, then (lie jury duty shall be considered the same as having <br />occurred during the employee's day off work; therefore, the <br />employee will receive no added compensation. <br />D. It is the intent of the parties that no additional paid time off shall be gained or lost <br />as a result of the implementation of either the 4/10, Che 3/11.5 plus 1/5.5, or the <br />9/80 work schedules. The City reserves the right to abandon either the 4(10, the <br />3/11.5 plus 1/5.5, or the 9/80 work schedules for these employees if, in the opinion <br />of the concerned Department Head and the City Manager, either the 4/10, the 3/11.5 <br />plus 1/5.5, or the 9/80 work schedules has not produced the desired results. If this <br />right is exercised, however, the City and SEIU shall meet and confer in good faith <br />prior to abandoning any of these work schedules. <br />7 <br />
