A city cannot have a comprehensive vision for its built environment without a General
Plan that guides zoning and land use. OCCORD's mission is to ensure that there is
equitable development in Orange County and specifically in Santa Ana. We believe that
selling off public assets without consideration of the Surplus Land Act is absolutely in
direct conflict to promoting equitable development. We ask that you continue item 19D
until you, the Mayor and members of City Council can answer how you plan to comply
with the CA Surplus Land Act with the sale of these public parcels.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at
info@saascoalition.org or (657) 205-7306.
Regards,
Kristopher Fortin
Leadership Committee Secretary
Santa Ana Active Streets
