RECEIVE UPDATE FROM STAFF REGARDING RAILROAD COMPANY <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY MAINTENANCE COMPLIANCE (HOMELESS <br />ENCAMPMENTS/ABANDONED PROPERTY/TRASH/GRAFFITI, ETC.) AND <br />ADMINISTRATIVE AND LEGAL OPTIONS TO ADDRESS LACK OF PROMPT <br />AND ONGOING COMPLIANCE. DISCUSS AND PROVIDE DIRECTION, AS <br />NEEDED, TO STAFF REGARDING THIS MATTER AND OTHER LARGE <br />PROPERTY OWNERS THIS MAY BE APPLICABLE TO - Councilmembers <br />Solorio, Penaloza and Iglesias <br />The following spoke on the matter: <br />Carlo J. Bonanni, addressed City Council to express concern over homeless <br />issue on railroad tracks near Bristol Avenue. Urged City Council to address <br />homeless issue. <br />Councilmember Solorio, directed staff to provide City Council with update on <br />railroad property issues and potential enforcement actions within thirty days. <br />Mayor Pulido, supportive of contacting Judge Carter to coordinate efforts. <br />Deputy Chief Gominski, noted railroad company does not make sufficient efforts <br />to address cleanup and homeless issues. <br />Councilmember Iglesias, supportive of pursuing enforcement options. <br />Councilmember Penaloza, supportive of pursuing enforcement options. <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING RECESSED AT 9:04 P.M. AND CONVENED THE HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY MEETING IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE SUCCESSOR AGENCY <br />MEETING AND RECONVENED AT 9:08 P.M.
