Parking lot curb medians and park lighting throughout the park <br />will be upgraded, as well as the removal of wooden structures and reconditioning of landing dock <br />ironwork fencing and wooden posts. <br />West Willits Street Protected Bike Lanes <br />This project will implement protected bike lanes, bike detection, and cross walk enhancements <br />along West Willits Street from Fairview to Raitt. The project is designed to increase bicyclists' <br />safety and mobility. The project is currently in the environmental planning phase. <br />Santa Ana Boulevard and 5th Street Protected Bike Lanes <br />This project will implement median protected bike lanes on Santa Ana Boulevard and 5th Street <br />connecting the Downtown/Civic Center to the Regional Transportation Center. The project is <br />designed to increase bicyclists' safety and mobility. Construction of this project will be <br />coordinated with construction of the OC Streetcar. <br />Bristol Street Protected Bike Lanes <br />This project will implement median protected bike lanes on Bristol Street from Edinger Avenue to <br />1st Street. The project is designed to increase bicyclists' safety and mobility. Construction of this <br />project is tentatively scheduled to begin by the end of this calendar year and will follow the <br />Metropolitan Water District (MWD) project on Bristol Street. <br />Edinger Avenue Protected Bike Lanes <br />This project includes the implementation of protected bike lanes east- and westbound on Edinger <br />Avenue from the Santa Ana River Trail to Bristol Street. This project will enhance connectivity to <br />the Santa Ana River Trail, encourage additional bicycling, and augment bicycle safety in the <br />city. Construction is anticipated to commence in Summer 2019. <br />Civic Center Lift Stations <br />The two storm water lift stations in the Civic Center Superblock at Santa Ana Boulevard and <br />Parton Street, and Flower and 6th Streets, are approximately 45 years old. The lift stations need <br />to be completely renovated and warning sensors added in order to address major rainstorms in <br />the Superblock. Plans will be completed by the end of this month. Construction is anticipated to <br />commence in Spring 2019. <br />Civic Center ADA Access <br />Construction is currently underway to add two new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) - <br />compliant ramps that will provide direct access to the City Council Chamber from the City Hall <br />Courtyard and from the Superblock Parking Structure. The improvements include new walkways, <br />retaining walls, and railing at both locations as well as new landscaping, irrigation, and lighting at <br />the south ramp. Construction is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2019. <br />19G-2 <br />
