Authorize Transaction with Proforce Marketing, Inc. <br />March 5, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />The solicitation called for qualified vendors to submit a bid for 342 new Glock Model 17 handguns <br />as well as offer an in-store credit for 342 used handguns that are approximately five years old. <br />The bid received from Proforce Marketing, Inc. is responsive to the specifications and meets the <br />City's requirements. The bid pricing for the 342 new Glock handguns is $131,556, when <br />combined with the trade-in credit value of $94,392 makes the balance due for the new Glock 17's <br />$37,165, which offers the best value to the City. <br />Outreach Efforts <br />A search of local Santa Ana vendors providing Glock handguns to law enforcement was <br />conducted and produced no results. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Strategic Goal # 1 — Community Safety, <br />Objective # 5 (provide high quality Police and Fire/Emergency Medical Services response within <br />the City of Santa Ana). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $ 37,165 are available in FY 2018-19 in the Police Department Training <br />Services account no.
