Award Purchase Orders for Confined Space Vehicle Rescue Equipment <br />March 5, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />Bids were opened on December 19, 2018, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bids received from the <br />recommended vendors are responsive to the specifications and meet the City's requirements. <br />Over 100 different line items, such as self-contained breathing apparatus packs, helmets and <br />headlamps, intrinsically safe blowers, rope rescue hardware, davit hoist systems, radios, and <br />multigas detectors, were categorized into ten sections and put out to bid. To optimize savings <br />and stay within the authorized budget, each vendor will be issued a purchase order for the <br />categories in which they are the lowest bidder. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Strategic Plan Goal #6 — Community <br />Facilities & Infrastructure, Objective #2 (address deferred maintenance on City buildings and <br />equipment). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds in the amount of $274,000 are available for expenditure in FY 2018-19 Water Utility <br />Production and Supply account (No. 06017640-66400).
