Emergency Management Performance Grant <br />March 5, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />The Police Department has received an award from the FY 2018 EMPG grant in the amount of <br />$42,382. This award will provide funding support to the City to acquire electronic displays, maps <br />and computer equipment for the City's Emergency Operations Center. <br />The proposed resolution authorizes the City the City Manager, on terms acceptable to the City <br />Attorney, to execute a sub -recipient transfer agreement with the County of Orange and/or <br />Orange County Sheriffs Department in an amount not to exceed $42,382 in support of the grant <br />program. The resolution also authorizes the City Manager to prepare reimbursement <br />agreements for salary costs, equipment, services, or training with the County of Orange pursuant <br />to the guidelines set for in the EMPG program. The proposed agreement will allow the County to <br />reimburse the City for costs associated with the grant. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of these items assists the City in meeting Goal #1 Community Safety, Objective #2 <br />(Broaden communications, information sharing and community awareness of public safety <br />activities), Strategy E (Update the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) emergency <br />preparedness plan to include a community evacuation strategy to respond to natural disasters); <br />and Objective #6 (Enhance Public Safety integration, communications and community outreach), <br />Strategy B (Develop and implement a Fire/Emergency Medical Services major incident notification <br />process to better communicate with community members during emergencies.). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The appropriation adjustment will recognize $42,382 in EMPG Grant funds in revenue account <br />(no. 12814002-52001), and appropriate same to expenditure account (no. 12814414 - 63001). <br />Existing Police Department funding of the Emergency Operations Coordinator position fulfills the <br />requirement for matching funds. <br />avid VaLan in <br />ief of Police <br />Santa Ana Police Department <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNT: <br />d4k _ r <br />Kathryn Downs, CPA <br />Executive Director vxt 55A� <br />Finance and Management Services Agency <br />Exhibits: 1.
