McFadden Ave, Santa Ana, CA. 92704 <br />March 17, 2019 <br />Honorable Mayor Pulido and Council Members <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza <br />Santa Ana, CA. 92701 <br />Dear Mayor and Council Members: <br />The Vietnamese Interfaith Council in America consists of Vietnamese spiritual leaders of <br />Buddhist, Cao Dai, Catholic, Christian, Hoa Hao and Orthodox religions in the United States, <br />Our missions are to promote cooperation; and respect amongst people of various religions, to <br />encourage people of all faiths to work together for mutual understanding, to help protect <br />religious freedom, to celebrate faith traditions, and to be advocates for justice. <br />Vietnamese Interfaith Council in America is proud to support to Ken Khanh Nguyen for <br />appointment to to the Santa Ana City Council representing Ward 4, <br />Ken Nguyen has continually been a highly regarded and respected leader in the Vietnamese - <br />American community for over 40 years. Ken Nguyen is a compassionate and caring individual <br />who has given an enormous amount of time and effort in volunteer services, It is credit to his <br />selfless service and positive role in the community that he was appointed as the External <br />Affairs Officer on the Vietnamese Interfaith Council in America in 2014, He is the only <br />layperson who serves on the council and has been an integral partner for community events <br />and outreach, Ken Nguyen effectively bridges the gap between different organizations, <br />advocates for people in the community and would be an asset to any organization he serves, <br />It is therefore with great confidence that we strongly support a vote of approval to appoint Ken <br />Nguyen to serve the residents of Santa Ana by representing Ward 4 on the City Council, <br />Sincerely, <br />Professor Giau a h Nguyen <br />Chairman <br />
