Monthly CIP Executive Report for March 2019 <br />April 2, 2019 <br />Page 2 <br />Omnibus Concrete Repair Project / Non -Motorized <br />The Omnibus concrete repair project will provide for replacement of damaged and deteriorated <br />concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, cross gutters, wheelchair ramps, driveway approaches, and <br />other concrete pavement at various locations throughout the city. The contractor started <br />mobilizing and should complete this citywide effort by summer 2019. <br />New Park at 6th & Lacv <br />The project involves creation of a new neighborhood park on a .42 -acre vacant site. The <br />enhancements include a playground, picnic area, skateboarding area, walkways, outdoor class <br />area with shade structure, rock bioswale, water -wise landscaping, drip irrigation system, <br />benches, picnic tables, bike racks, and a drinking fountain. The construction contract was <br />awarded on March 51h and a pre -construction meeting has already taken place. Staff is preparing <br />for construction to begin in April 2019. <br />Non -Motorized, Citywide Concrete Sidewalk - Phase 2 Cabrillo Park <br />Large roots from mature trees have consistently lifted the sidewalk along Cabrillo Park Drive from <br />Fruit Street to 15th Street. The project includes some tree removals and the construction of new <br />sidewalks. The project is near completion with the east side of Cabrillo Park from Fruit Street to <br />15th Street and will begin in April 2019 on construction for the west side improvements. <br />Civic Center ADA Access <br />Construction for the project is underway and expected to be completed by April 2019. Once <br />completed, these improvements will provide accessibility to individuals with disabilities and <br />enhance the visual appearance of the surrounding Civic Center area. <br />Bear Street Traffic Signal Synchronization (Costa Mesa Lead) <br />This project will provide new optimized signal timing and install traffic signal and intersection <br />improvements along the entire corridor, totaling three (3) signals along a one (1) mile stretch. <br />Fairview Street Traffic Signal Synchronization (Costa Mesa Lead): <br />This Project will provide new optimized signal timing and install traffic signal and intersection <br />improvements along the entire corridor, totaling fifteen (15) signals along a five (5) mile stretch. <br />This project is currently in the design phase, reviewing plans and the proposed optimized timing <br />of synchronization. Design is anticipated for completion in May 2019. Construction is tentatively <br />scheduled to begin in July 2019. <br />Westminster Avenue/Seventeenth Street Traffic Signal Synchronization (OCTA Lead): <br />This project will provide new optimized signal timing and install traffic signal and intersection <br />improvements along the entire corridor, totaling twenty-four (24) signals along a five and a half <br />(5.5) mile stretch. Construction is ongoing for this project, with an anticipated completion date of <br />April 2019. <br />19D-2 <br />
